Cement-building materials business going strong
Since its establishment in the country in 1993, SCG has provided cement and building materials to numerous projects nationwide. The country’s consistent economic growth makes the Philippines one of SCG’s strategic markets in the region.
The government’s Build, Build, Build program has been a key factor in SCG’s business in recent months as demand for cement and building materials rose along with the construction of various infrastructures. Revenue from sales of cement-building materials alone hit P7,500 million, of which 51.6 percent was contributed by Mariwasa.
2019 marks another fresh start for SCG in the Philippines with the announcement of its new Country Director, Mr. Anuvat Chalermchai. With his 30 years of experience, Anuvat envisions to steer SCG’s businesses in the Philippines toward continuous growth.
“I am excited to be on this new journey with SCG in the Philippines. The Philippines has always been a strategic country for SCG because of its dynamic market. I look forward to developing better collaboration with our partners and seamlessly bringing SCG’s products services, and solutions to more Filipinos,” shares Anuvat.
SCG is focusing on delivering solutions to better fulfill customer needs. Committed to improving customer experience, SCG in the Philippines is now shifting from a product-based business model to a solution-based one. Studies are already underway to gain customers’ insights and provide solutions that are tailor-fit to their specific needs.
Moreover, SCG is developing an omnichannel platform that will make it easier for customers to access construction materials through different channels. This approach, was which piloted in 2018, will allow customer to conveniently buy SCG products through www.scgshop.com.ph in addition to SCG physical stores in nationwide.
Anuvat assures that SCG has exciting plans in store for the Philippines in 2019. “We are gearing up to expand SCG’s cement-building materials business nationwide. As part of our omnichannel service, a new e-commerce platform is being developed to provide more convenient access to products for any type of construction,” he reveals.
