With just a few weeks left until the September 30 deadline, Junior Chamber International (JCI) Philippines through the #AmbagKo campaign calls on all eligible voters to register for the elections.
The next 20 days will be very critical to the turnout of the electoral process. The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) said it has recorded 61.06 million registered voters. Meanwhile, data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) shows there are still 13 million potential voters who remain unregistered [1].
The youth, being one of the largest voting blocs, “can literally dictate the shape of the government, said COMELEC Spokesperson James Jimenez during the Ambagan ng Bayan Facebook live session last August 23. Jimenez also pointed out that with the idealism, passion to get socially involved and voting power of the Filipino youth, they can take the lead in improving the nation.

With ECQ and MECQ restrictions affecting on-site registration processes and schedules, JCI Philippines, the first nationally organized leadership development organization in Asia, is boosting its digital initiatives to reach out to more Filipinos. Besides its ongoing Facebook live talks that focus on pressing issues, JCI is set to launch more interactive online activities, contests and raffles. JCI will also hold an Emerging Leaders leadership training.
Registration hours have been extended and will now run from 8:00AM to 7:00PM from Mondays to Fridays and 8:00AM to 5:00PM on Saturdays and holidays. Visit comelec.gov.ph for online registration guide and the latest satellite registration schedule.
