PH Ranks First Worldwide for Highest YoY Increase in Enrollments from Women Learners on Coursera
A new study from Coursera, Inc. reveals the Philippines recorded the highest YoY increase in online learning participation among women learners at 774 percent to rank #1 among 190 countries.
The Women and Skills Report from Coursera (NYSE: COUR), one of the largest online learning platforms in the world, examines the pandemic’s impact on skills and learning trends among women and compares prepandemic enrollment and performance data with trends observed on the Coursera platform since the onset of the pandemic through June 2021. The report reveals an impressive increase in online learning participation among women learners globally and in the Philippines. More women are also participating in certificate training programs aimed at entry-level digital jobs.

Coursera, the world’s leading online learning platform, recently announced the free versions of Coursera for Campus and upgraded features to address the critical and long-term needs of higher education worldwide. The announcement builds on the momentum of the Campus Response Initiative, which was launched in March to give students and faculty free access to Coursera for Campus during pandemic-related closures. Currently, more than 3,700 institutions use Coursera for Campus to deliver online learning to over 2.4 million students.
The new features allow universities to deliver academic integrity for credit-bearing online learning, improve student employability and author private courses.
