OYO Philippines Opens its Doors to Healthcare Practitioners at the Frontline of COVID-19

To support medical and health COVID-19 frontliners in Mindanao, OYO is offering discounts to practitioners from hospitals within a 5-kilometer radius of its partner properties. The company is also closely coordinating with BPOs and other businesses for accommodation for their employees, and with stranded foreign tourists affected by the lockdown.

In response to the need for more accommodations raised on social media and by LGUs and NGOs, 24 OYO properties in Mindanao were reopened. OYO has 500 rooms available for occupancy in the region, and the company is currently working on the possibility of opening more should the need arise.

OYO Sets Up Fund to Assist Southeast Asia Partners Affected by COVID-19

OYO in Southeast Asia has announced that it will be setting up a dedicated fund to support its partners in the region and their families that have been affected by COVID-19.

Chief Executive Officer of OYO Hotels & Homes Southeast Asia, Japan & Middle East Dr. Mandar Vaidya said the fund amounts to US$200,000. This financial assistance comes after a dedicated fund of more than RMB1 million was allotted for China.

OYO Hotels & Homes Seek to Raise $1.5B in Latest Round of Financing

OYO Hotels & Homes, the world’s fastest-growing chain of hotels, homes and living spaces, announced last Monday that it is raising $1.5 billion as part of its Series F funding round. As a part of this round, RA Hospitality Holdings’ will infuse approximately $700 million as primary capital in the company, with the balance $800 million being supplemented by other existing investors. A significant part of the funds will be diverted towards continued growth in OYO’s fastest-growing market the United States, and in strengthening the company’s position in the vacation rentals business in Europe.
