Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketer of Caltex fuel and lubricants, in partnership with AmCham Foundation Philippines (ACFPI), recently recognized 28 graduates and Caltex scholars of the AmCham Foundation Scholarship Program. These scholars have successfully completed a comprehensive 15-month Automobile Mechanics training program at Don Bosco Technical Institute Makati, earning for themselves a TESDA certification each as an auto mechanic.

Selected and screened by AmCham representatives, the scholars underwent comprehensive training that included a 4-month internship at Caltex-branded workshops under the Caltex Mechanics Pool initiative.

“We are always thankful to Chevron for their support to our sustainable projects and activities. As for our scholars, we always say that graduation is not the end but a new beginning. We will continue to support these scholars until they are employed, excelling in their careers, and giving back to their families and communities. We are very proud of our first batch of scholars,” said Daisy Palor, project manager with AmCham Foundation Philippines.

(This has greatly helped us, and it means a lot to be able to share the learnings I gained from this program. I will forever be thankful and grateful for this to Chevron. I hope that someday I can repay this opportunity and privilege that you have given me. I hope the day will come when I’d be the one to offer others a scholarship.)

Another outstanding scholar shared his message of gratitude for the opportunity provided by CPI and ACFPI. Jhon Keven Eugenio, recipient of the Exemplary Conduct, Perfect Attendance and Volunteerism awards, said, “This scholarship is more than just financial support; it serves as a reminder that we all have potential and we just need to add hard work. Your generosity [Chevron] has inspired me to continue pursuing my passion and perseverance. Maraming salamat po sa Chevron. Dahil po sa inyo nakamit ko ang pagtatapos sa Don Bosco Technical Institute of Makati. (Thank you very much to Chevron. Because of you, I was able to graduate from the Don Bosco Technical Institute of Makati.)

“I would like to thank AmCham Foundation Philippines. It has been a fruitful and sustainable partnership — one that we are truly proud of. For our scholars, at some point in your careers, we hope that you too will be able to give back to the community. Be an inspiration to the succeeding batches to ensure the success of this program,” said Raissa Bautista, senior corporate affairs manager at CPI.
