With the goal of encouraging Filipinos to live healthier lives in style, Garmin launches the Venu® 2 and Venu 2S with a 45mm watch case and 40mm watch case, respectively.

Growing interest in health and fitness

More people in Asia have been increasingly paying greater attention to their health and fitness, and this grew even more during the pandemic. The worldwide shipments of wearables last year grew 28.4 percent from the previous year to hit 444.7 million units, IDC’s 2020 Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker® reports.

There has also been a steady rise in indoor aerobic activities such as yoga, strength training and indoor cardio compared to the same period1 last year, according to Garmin Connect data in Asia. In comparison, the proportion of outdoor walking activities has dropped significantly by 17.7 percent in the same period, likely due to the varying lockdown restrictions brought about by the pandemic.

Overall wellness with Venu 2 series

The latest Venu 2 series GPS smartwatches adds a new fitness age and sleep score to its robust portfolio of all-day health monitoring features that provide users with deeper and more meaningful insights into their overall wellness. A new Health Snapshot helps users log, record and share important health stats with a healthcare provider.

The improved interface design allows users to effortlessly track their health and wellness with a comprehensive suite of health monitoring features right on their wrist. Users can find more ways to move with over 25 built-in sports apps with enhanced strength training profile and added muscle map graphics come to life on the bright AMOLED display. “At the core of the Venu product line is the belief that you can live better by building a healthier lifestyle.
