26th National PR Congress Marks Milestones

More than 400 delegates, 30+ local and international speakers, 11 plenary sessions, 12 breakout sessions, 27 corporate sponsors and 21 media partners. These numbers summarize the recently concluded 26th National Public Relations Congress.

The two-day annual conference, which ran on September 24 and 25 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, had the theme Amplify and gathered together not just PR and communication practitioners but also participants from other industries, government agencies, startup organizations, members of the academe and students. Besides being in a new venue, the congress marks the first time it opened itself to a bigger and more diverse audience in line with the goal of broadening its reach even outside the PR community.

Realme Philippines Makes Biggest Introductory Offline Sales Record with realme 5 Pro

The realme 5 Pro, the latest realme smartphone to enter the Philippine market, has bagged another feat for the fastest-growing smartphone brand by being its best-selling device in terms of introductory sales. The Quad-Camera Speed Master posted initial sales three times bigger than those of preceding devices.

The realme 5 Pro, which was launched in the Philippines last October 3, 2019, received a warm welcome, with numerous Filipino realme fans joining the device’s pre-order promo from October 4 to October 11. Pre-order claimants were able to bring home their brand-new realme 5 Pro units last October 12 with a free 10,000mAh realme power bank worth PHP1,599.

OYO Hotels & Homes Seek to Raise $1.5B in Latest Round of Financing

OYO Hotels & Homes, the world’s fastest-growing chain of hotels, homes and living spaces, announced last Monday that it is raising $1.5 billion as part of its Series F funding round. As a part of this round, RA Hospitality Holdings’ will infuse approximately $700 million as primary capital in the company, with the balance $800 million being supplemented by other existing investors. A significant part of the funds will be diverted towards continued growth in OYO’s fastest-growing market the United States, and in strengthening the company’s position in the vacation rentals business in Europe.
