Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI) continues to extend scholarship opportunities beyond the National Capital Region (NCR) for students pursuing automotive and industrial technology as part of the Caltex Energy for Learning.

Through its long-standing partnership with the American Chamber Foundation Philippines, Inc. (AmCham Foundation), CPI, marketer of Caltex fuels and lubricants, has supported students in Don Bosco centers around the country.

CPI has also coordinated with three other Don Bosco Training Centers in Davao Oriental, Pampanga and Laguna.

An additional 35 scholars have been selected to enroll in an automobile technology course. This latest batch has recently undergone orientation and Youth in Focus-Capacity Building Trainings and Outreach Programs these past months and is set to graduate by the end of the year.

In line with Caltex’s vision, this initiative drives the development of branded workshops that make genuine Caltex lubricants and top-quality mechanical services more accessible to motorists.

“Beyond being a reliable fuel provider, we welcome partnerships with our community and other like-minded organizations as we strengthen Chevron’s thrust as a human energy company. This commitment comes to life through our ongoing scholarship programs as we give promising young Filipinos access to quality education and career training. We are also grateful for our partnership with AmCham Foundation as the nonprofit has helped us bring our CSR plans into completion,” said CPI General Manager and Country Chairman Pongtorn “Bon” Tangmanuswong.

Since 2023, CPI has been sponsoring trainees under Don Bosco Technical Institute Makati’s Automobile Mechanic with Motorcycle/Small Engine Servicing program. The program enables future mechanics to gain enhanced skills to deliver superior service and top-notch customer support.

Three years strong, the scholarship has produced 55 graduates, with the most recent batch receiving Conduct, Industry and Service Awards during their March 2026 graduation. The program ensures trainees are TESDA-certified to practice in the profession. It also exposes trainees to employment opportunities, with 78 percent of graduates now working in various auto mechanic shops and dealerships.

Additionally, CPI has tapped Bulacan State University (BulSu) as another educational partner. CPI has funded five college students pursuing an undergraduate degree in industrial technology in the school. This support has motivated the students to go above and beyond in their studies, with all five maintaining grades ranging from 1.1 to 1.7.

BulSu scholar Gerald Aldrin C. Pineda thanked CPI for helping fund his studies, saying, “Chevron continually gives me a reason to pursue my studies despite the difficulty of successfully overcoming an entire semester. I will strive to continue being a deserving scholar of Chevron to show that they did not make a mistake in choosing me as a student with a deep desire to finish my studies despite all the difficulties.”

AmCham President Edwin Feist expressed gratitude to CPI for continuously working with the nonprofit to send underprivileged youth to school. “The cost of education is consistently on the rise, so we need all the help to make education more accessible to Filipinos. Our enduring alliance with Chevron shows the company’s belief in the power of education and its persistence in helping more students get the schooling they deserve.”

Chevron and the AmCham Foundation share a longstanding mission focused on creating opportunities for disadvantaged youth through education and livelihood initiatives, reaching and supporting hundreds of individuals over the years. CPI will continue to support the education of young Filipinos and provide access to job opportunities within the motoring industry.
