US Remains Key Military Ally, But Strong Economic Ties with China Vital, Locsin Tells Oxford Business Group

The status of the bilateral relationship with the United States and the validity of the Mutual Defence Treaty (MDT) were among the many topics discussed recently in an interview given by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary, Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. to representatives of Oxford Business Group (OBG).

Locsin highlighted that the MDT has proven to be effective in maintaining peace in the Philippines and the wider region since the beginning of the Cold War, and expressed his desire to see it preserved in its current form.

Renowned Speakers and Performers Join Biggest Youth Celebration of the Year

Popular evangelist and founder of Life Without Limbs Nick Vujicic, Australian worship band Planetshakers, and American Christian hip hop recording artist, songwriter, record producer and actor Lecrae are among the renowned speakers and performers headlining the upcoming Jesus Global Youth Day (JGYD).

The youth conference, set for August 8 to 10 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, is the first of its kind to be held in the country. The three-day gathering aims to spur the Gen Z, millennial and Gen X Christians from all over the world to love Christ, live committed, and lead change through the message of the Gospel and the love of Jesus Christ.

Oxford Business Group Retains New Regional Director for Asia

Oxford Business Group (OBG) has assigned Maria Meroño to the position of Regional Director for Asia. In her new role, Meroño will oversee a broad range of projects in the many markets that OBG covers across the region.

The move marks a return to Asia for Meroño who previously spent almost three years in Indonesia and other countries in the ASEAN bloc, where she played a pivotal part in helping the firm to expand its operations there.
